Giedo van der Garde says he the new structure of Pirelli tyres, introduced at the Hungarian Grand Prix, are more receptive to his style of driving.

Van der Garde achieved his best finish of fourteenth place and believes the tyres have given him a boost.

"It was nice to have a break and chill out a little bit and I enjoyed it. I didn’t have so much rest, only three days off, and then I start training again. Now I’m ready for the second half of the season," he told F1Zone.net in Rotterdam, where he demonstrated a Caterham CT03.

"I think the tyres will help me a bit more now. We’ve already saw it in Hungary that it went better. I’m very happy with that result which was a good boost. We now have to continue this form and I’m already looking forward to next weekend."

"The construction they [Pirelli] brought in Budapest was helpful for the way I drive and it looks like it fits better to Caterham too. We had a big advantage compare to Marussia in Budapest.

Van der Garde insists that finishing in tenth place in the Constructors' Championship is still a realistic target.

"I will keep on working like I did before. Our target is still to get the 10th [place in the] Constructors’ Championship, so it will be a nice fight."
