Saturday's action at the United States Grand Prix is under threat due to torrential rain which is battering Texas.

The Circuit of the Americas will not open its gates to fans until 12:00 local time due to the conditions, with Austin and the surrounding area in which the circuit is located under a threat of flash floods.

Friday's second practice session was cancelled due to wet weather, which has lingered in the region overnight.

The third practice session is due to begin at 10:00 local time, with qualifying scheduled for 13:00 local time.
