Tyre failures have marred the beginning of the British Grand Prix.

Race leader Lewis Hamilton suffered a tyre explosion on lap eight of the 52 lap race.

Ferrari's Felipe Massa suffered a similar failure at the same point a few laps later.

Following those failures on medium tyres, Jean Eric Vergne suffered a tyre failure into Stowe, this time on the hard tyres.

The safety car was deployed to retrieve debris.
