This year's Le Mans 24 Hours received a much needed boost on Tuesday afternoon as Toyota announced they will run two cars at the famous event in June.

At the launch of their petrol-electric LMP1 hybrid at Paul Ricard in France, Toyota announced that they will also compete in two additional rounds of the new FIA endurance championship.

The TS030 has already been put through its paces in a three day test two weeks ago in the hands of Alex Wurz and Nicolas Lapierre. The main entry's third driver will be ex-Williams F1 man Kazuki Nakajima.

The news is a much needed boost for the series after the shock withdrawal of Peugeot Sport last week.
