Lotus Renault, Force India and HRT announced today the drivers who will be taking part in the upcoming Young Driver Test at the Abu Dhabi circuit. The rookie days will take place from Tuesday, 15th of November to Thursday, 17th of November at the Yas Marina Circuit, which will also be scene of the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix a few days before.

Stepping into the Lotus Renault R31 during the three-day test will be Robert Wickens (Tuesday), Kevin Korjus (Wednesday) and Jan Charouz (Thursday). The 22-year-old Canadian, Robert Wickens, won the 2011 Formula Renault 3.5 championship with Carlin Motorsport. In 2009 he finished in second place in the FIA Formula Two Championship, and in 2010 he was runner-up in the GP3 Series. Kevin Korjus is the current World Series by Renault driver. The Estonian 18 year old was the 2010 Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup champion. This year, Kevin became the youngest driver to win a race in Formula Renault 3.5 Series. Jan Charouz, one of LRGP’s third drivers, will also be testing the R31. The Czech motor racing driver won the 2009 Le Mans Series season and 2006 F3000 International Masters season, as well as taking fourth place in the 2009 24 Hours of Le Mans. Since 2010, Jan is LRGP’s reserve driver and also competed in the World Series by Renault Formula Renault 3.5 Championship and Auto GP.

Force India announced that Max Chilton will test for the team at the upcoming young driver test in Abu Dhabi. 20-year-old Briton, Max Chilton, fresh from his second season in GP2, will drive on Tuesday and Thursday. Having already completed a straight-line aerodynamic test with Sahara Force India, Chilton said: “I can’t wait to get back in the car in Abu Dhabi. I’ve spent time with the team already so I’ve got a feel for the way they work and I hope I can get up to speed quickly. Abu Dhabi is a track I’ve raced at a few times in GP2 so that will help. It’s a big opportunity for me and I just want to enjoy the experience and take in as much as I can.”

HRT will have Spanish driver Dani Clos joining its ranks for the Young Driver Test. The 23-year-old driver from Barcelona will race in the final GP2 event at the Yas Marina Circuit from the 11th to the 13th of November and will then step into a Formula 1 car after the Formula 1 event.

Dani Clos made his debut in single‐seater racing in 2004 in Formula Renault Italia 2.0, going on to win the Championship in 2006. A year later he joined Renault’s F1 programme and took part in the Formula Three Euroseries. In 2009 he made his debut in the GP2 series, with a 3rd place finish in Portimao being his best result. In his second year in GP2 he achieved his first win in Turkey and in 2011 Dani Clos took one win and two podiums.
