FIA opens up selection process for new team

The FIA has opened up a selection process for a new team to join the grid, potentially as early as the start of the 2015 Formula 1 season. Applicants have until Friday 3rd January 2014 to register a formal expression of interest. Lotus F1 Team chairman Gerard Lopez has insisted that he maintains a good relationship with Kimi Raikkonen, amid speculation of problems after the Indian Grand Prix. Fernando Alonso says splitting strategies is Ferrari's best hope of achieving a strong result in the Indian Grand Prix. Formula 1 signs new Concorde Agreement

The FIA has confirmed that a new Concorde Agreement has been signed, following months of negotiations. The new agreement will run until 2020. 'This agreement provides the FIA with significantly improved financial means to pursue its regulatory missions and to reflect the enhanced role undertaken by the FIA in the Motor Sport,' read an FIA statement. Williams and Mercedes-Benz announce long-term engine partnership

The Williams F1 Team and Mercedes-Benz have announced the signature of a long-term engine partnership from the 2014 Formula One World Championship season onwards. Under the terms of the agreement, Williams will be supplied with a Mercedes-Benz Power Unit (Internal Combustion Engine plus Energy Recovery System) by Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains (HPP) based in Brixworth, UK. Mercedes at centre of tyre test row

It has emerged that Mercedes conducted a private three day tyre test following the Spanish Grand Prix. Autosport and BBC Sport claim ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix that the Brackley based team carried out over 1000 kilometres of running.
