FIA bids to increase noise for 2016

The FIA will attempt to increase the sound emitted by next year's Formula 1 cars after a tweak in the regulations, ratified by the World Motor Sport Council. Since the V6 power units were introduced at the start of 2014, there have been complaints that the cars are not as loud as their predecessors, an issue which the FIA is attempting to amend. FIA confirms cost cap among rule tweaks, double points remain

The FIA has raised the minimum weight for the 2014 season, among a number of amendments announced following a meeting of the World Motor Sport Council in Geneva. 'The weight of the car, without fuel, must not be less than 691kg at all times during the Event', read an FIA statement. WMSC confirms 2014 Formula 1 calendar

The World Motor Sport Council has unveiled the calendar for the 2014 Formula 1 season. The 22 race season will begin in Australia in March and end in Brazil in November. The Grand Prix of America is scheduled to take place on June 1st, the second race of three set to take place on consecutive weekends. WMSC confirm 2014 changes

The World Motor Sport Council met on Friday. Here are the changes for 2014... Further to a request from Mercedes, it will be permitted to supply engines to a maximum of four Formula One teams in 2014. A penalty point system for drivers will be introduced. If a driver accumulates more than 12 points he will be banned from the next race. Points will stay on the driver’s licence for 12 months.
