Kubica tests DTM car in Valencia

Robert Kubica has tested a Mercedes AMG C-coupe, the marque's DTM machine, at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit near Valencia. The Pole completed 114 laps of the Spanish track, which was initially wet after heavy rain in the morning. "I was able to get to grips with the DTM Mercedes AMG C-coupe and felt very comfortable in the car, even though after my long break it meant adjusting to the high downforce that a state-of-the art DTM race car produces," he said to Autosport. Kubica still intent on F1 return

Robert Kubica insists he is not finished with Formula One, despite a two year absence from the sport. The Pole suffered major injuries in a rallying accident in February 2011. Speaking to F1 Racing magazine, Kubica believes he can one day return to an F1 cockpit. "I still believe I can come back," he said. "It's not just a dream. Right now I have limitations with driving single-seaters, but they are less than they look from the outside". Kubica will take part in a DTM test in […]

Glock to BMW, no Marussia move for Vitaly Petrov

BMW has refused to comment on speculation Timo Glock could rescue his racing career with a seat in the German touring car series DTM. Marussia announced on Monday that, despite the 30-year-old having a "valid contract" for 2013 and apparently also 2014, it has agreed to part ways with German Glock to make room for a pay driver. "Although it is not the path I expected to be taking, I am in fact very excited about what the future holds in terms of my own […]

Schumacher believes F1 competition is greater now

Retired F1 champion Michael Schumacher has said that competition in Formula One is greater due to the reduced field spread. Schumacher returned to the sport in 2010 for three seasons, claiming a sole podium in Valencia last year. When asked whether the competition was greater than in his first career, Schumacher replied "Yes, because the field is closer together". Speaking to German publication Auto Motor und Sport, Schumacher added "In my early days, there was always the chance to be quicker than another driver not just by […]
