Sainz laments slow Toro Rosso pit stops

Carlos Sainz Jr. believes Toro Rosso's slow pit stops during the Monaco Grand Prix compromised his chance of scoring a strong haul of points. Sainz's first stop took 27.7 seconds - from pit entry to exit - while his second lasted 28.1s, which compares unfavourably to the best of the race, achieved in a time of 24.6 seconds by Williams. Sainz Jr. finished the race in eighth place but believes a better result was within reach. "I’m not that happy finishing in P8 if I […]

Red Bull extends Renault deal, Toro Rosso to return

Red Bull will continue to be supplied with Renault engines until at least the end of 2018, with Toro Rosso also linking up with the manufacturer once more. Red Bull and Renault endured a fractious relationship in 2015 but a lack of alternatives meant the duo remained connected into 2016. Gains made by a restructured Renault operation so far in 2016 have convinced Red Bull to extend the current partnership by a further two years, continuing a relationship which began in 2007. Toro Rosso, which […]

Marko: Red Bull trying to help Kvyat

Red Bull motorsport consultant Helmut Marko says that Daniil Kvyat could not cope with the pressure of racing alongside Daniel Ricciardo and insists the Russian's demotion will be beneficial. Kvyat joined Red Bull at the start of 2015 and finished on the podium in China, but endured a troublesome home race, twice colliding with Sebastian Vettel at the start before trailing home in 15th place. Kvyat, who was out-qualified 4-0 by Ricciardo across the opening four Grands Prix, will return to Toro Rosso, having raced […]

Toro Rosso pair rue 'unfortunate' problems

Toro Rosso drivers Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz Jr. were left to rue an "unfortunate" Russian Grand Prix as the pair were hindered by issues. Verstappen avoided the drama on the opening lap of the race and held a comfortable sixth place until his STR11 slowed and stopped due to a power unit failure. Verstappen grappling with Toro Rosso oversteer

Max Verstappen says Toro Rosso has work to do in order to cure the oversteer affecting his STR11, following Friday's practice sessions for the Russian Grand Prix.
