Pastor Maldonado set the quickest time on the second day of testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain. Maldonado tops morning session in Spain

Pastor Maldonado set the quickest time as Formula 1 testing continued on Wednesday morning at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain. The Venezuelan driver set a series of rapid times, the fastest being a 1.26.311 to leave him comfortably top of the standings. Kimi Raikkonen enjoyed a more productive morning in the Ferrari F14T and he ended in second. Kobayashi apologises after shunt ends day

Kamui Kobayashi apologised to his Caterham team after he crashed out of the first day of the second in-season test in Spain. Formula 1 tyre supplier Pirelli has revealed its schedule of which days teams will devote solely to tyre testing. Each team must dedicate one of their test days to tyre work with the company. Gearbox problems strike Mercedes cars

Mercedes and McLaren both had their running truncated by gearbox problems on the second day of testing in Bahrain.
