Rosberg sends Mercedes fastest at Barcelona

Mercedes sent out a signal of intent to its Formula 1 rivals as Nico Rosberg set the quickest time of pre-season testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Friday. Rosberg stormed to the top of the times with a 1:22.792 during a Soft tyre run in the afternoon session and followed it up with a lap just a hundredth of a second slower a few minutes later. Hulkenberg debuts new Force India at Barcelona

Nico Hulkenberg gave the Force India VJM08 its public debut on the second day of the final pre-season test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Hulkenberg completed an installation lap shortly before lunch, during which he picked up a puncture due to a rim issue. Sainz pleased by Toro Rosso upgrades

Toro Rosso rookie Carlos Sainz Jr. says he is encouraged by the extensive upgrade package which the team has brought to the final pre-season test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Toro Rosso's STR10 features a modified front wing, along with updates to the aerodynamics, cooling and suspension of the car, compared to the car which was used at the first two tests. Massa fastest as final Barcelona test begins

Williams driver Felipe Massa set the quickest time on the first day of the final pre-season test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Massa took the mantle from World Champion Lewis Hamilton during the afternoon session on Medium tyres and promptly lowered his quickest time to a 1:23.500 on the yellow-banded Soft tyres. Final pre-season test: Barcelona line-up

The final pre-season test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will begin on Thursday morning. Nine teams will be present, with Force India set to introduce its 2015 car in time for running on Friday. Fernando Alonso will miss the test in order to recuperate, following his accident at last week's test. Alonso will be replaced by McLaren's test and reserve driver, Kevin Magnussen.

McLaren pins Alonso crash on windy conditions

McLaren says that they believe Fernando Alonso's crash during pre-season testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya was caused by the windy conditions affecting the track on Sunday. Alonso crashed at Turn 3 shortly before the lunch break and was airlifted to hospital after being taken by ambulance to the circuit's Medical Centre. Concussed Alonso to remain in hospital overnight

McLaren says that Fernando Alonso will remain in hospital overnight for observations, having suffered a concussion during a pre-season testing accident at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Sunday. Alonso hit the wall on the inside of Turn 3 and was transferred to the circuit Medical Centre before being airlifted to a nearby hospital. Grosjean optimistic over Lotus mileage

Romain Grosjean says he is pleased with Lotus' progress after setting the quickest time on the final day of the second pre-season test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Romain Grosjean topped a dramatic final day of the second pre-season test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, as Fernando Alonso was airlifted to hospital. Alonso’s McLaren hit the wall on the inside of Turn 3 and after being transported to the circuit’s Medical Centre by ambulance he was transferred by helicopter to hospital. Alonso 'fine' after Barcelona crash

McLaren has confirmed that Fernando Alonso is 'uninjured and fine' following a testing crash at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Sunday. Alonso's car hit the wall on the inside of the long right-hander at Turn 3 and the Spaniard was taken to the track's Medical Centre, before being airlifted to hospital. A McLaren spokesperson told assembled media at the track that a CT scan came back normal. The squad also confirmed that Alonso's crash brought the team's running at this test to a premature end.
