Hamilton stops Ferrari's dominance with pole

Lewis Hamilton scored an unexpected pole position for the Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday after an intense qualifying session at the Hungaroring. His fast lap of 1:35.658 in the final round of knockout was .26 of a second better than runner-up and teammate, Valtteri Bottas. Vettel secures pole on home ground

Sebastian Vettel qualified in pole position for tomorrow’s German Grand Prix at the Hockenheimring. His lap of 1:11.212 was good enough to secure his 55th pole position, the fifth this year. Team-mate Kimi Raikkonen will start tomorrow’s race from third on the grid having set a best time of 1:11.547. Ricciardo gets Monaco pole

After setting the pace in all three practice sessions in Monte Carlo, Daniel Ricciardo went on to score the fastest time in qualifying on Saturday. His fast lap of 1:10.810 set a new track qualifying record at Monaco and was .229 of a second better than runner-up Sebastian Vettel of Scuderia Ferrari. Hamilton secures pole position

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton will start the Spanish Grand Prinx on Sunday from pole position after setting the fastest time in qualifying. His fast lap of 1:16.173 set a new all-time track record at Barcelona and was a scant .04 of a second better than runner-up and teammate, Valtteri Bottas. Taking the pole for the Japanese Grand Prix was Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton. His fast lap of 1:27.319 was .332 of a second better than runner-up and teammate Valtteri Bottas and it set a new all-time fastest lap at Suzuka, breaking the mark of 1:28.954 set by Michael Schumacher in 2006 during Q2 while driving for Scuderia Ferrari. Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton will start the Belgian Grand Prix on Sunday from pole position after setting the quickest time of the qualifying session. His fast lap of 1:42.553 set an all-time track record at Spa, one-upping the hours-old mark of 1:43.916 set by Scuderia Ferrari’s Kimi Räikkönen in final practice (FP3). Scuderia Ferrari drivers will start the Hungarian Grand Prix from first row after setting the two fastest times in Qualifying on Saturday. Sebastian Vettel's lap of 1:16.276 was the quickest all-time at the Hungaroring and .168 of a second better than runner-up and teammate Kimi Räikkönen. Lewis Hamilton will start the Spanish Grand Prix from pole position after sweeping all of the top spots in each round of qualifying session.
