Lewis Hamilton set the fastest time before heavy rain hit Monaco during the second practice session on Thursday afternoon. Having topped the morning session, Hamilton went out early and posted a time of 1:17.192, 0.740s faster than Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg. Formula 1 is considering altering its Friday programme in a bid to cut costs in the sport. Currently there are two 90 minute practice sessions on Friday, but proposals are set to be put forward which could lead one of the 90 minute sessions to be culled.
