Perez confident of improvements in Belgium

Sergio Perez says he is confident that he can deliver a better result than the previous race at this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix. Perez finished in ninth place in Hungary but believes he can build on that result. "I'm confident that I can maximise the potential of the car," he said. "I will try and take 120% out of the car: that’s the target. I don’t know if a podium is realistic but we will see." In Hungary we spotted some mistakes and the car […]

Raikkonen is currently in second place in the championship but has only started from the front row once in 2013. "Well, obviously I keep making my life difficult on Saturdays in qualifying so then we pay a price, but we still have a good car in the race," says Raikkonen. Jenson Button says he is not expecting McLaren to be able to fight for victory in next weekend's Belgian Grand Prix. Boullier criticises 'very harsh' Grosjean penalty

Lotus team principal Eric Boullier has criticised the decision to give Romain Grosjean a drive through penalty for exceeding track limits during the Hungarian Grand Prix. Grosjean went around the outside of Ferrari's Felipe Massa at Turn 4, with the stewards deeming that Grosjean 'left the track' and that 'this overtaking move would not otherwise have been possible.' But Boullier disputed that decision. "I feel this penalty was a little bit too much," said Boullier. "He [Grosjean] had nowhere to go, he was a little […]

Time lost behind Button crucial, says Vettel

Sebastian Vettel says the time he lost behind Jenson Button was crucial to his chance of victory in the Hungarian Grand Prix. Vettel hounded eventual winner Lewis Hamilton throughout the opening stint but dropped back after his first stop due to being stuck behind the McLaren of Jenson Button. Vettel also lost out to Lotus's Kimi Raikkonen, who stopped once less and was able to defend his position. "I would have loved the race to have been a bit longer, as it was fun with […]

An upbeat Fernando Alonso reckons he can challenge for the podium places in Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix. Alonso set the fifth fastest time in Hungary and was pleased after difficult Saturdays in Britain and Germany.
