Rosberg not thinking about world title

Nico Rosberg insists he is not thinking about the world championship, despite Mercedes having won three races this season. Rosberg is 88 points behind championship leader Sebastian Vettel but has triumphed on two occasions, in Monaco and Britain. When asked whether Mercedes should be considered as title contenders, Rosberg said "You can if you want to, I’m not going to forbid you, but me? No, I’m thinking race by race and that’s the best way to do it – to try and get a fantastic […]

Sutil expecting Force India fightback in Belgium

Adrian Sutil is expecting Force India to recover from a dip in form at next weekend's Belgian Grand Prix. Force India sit in fifth place in the championship but failed to score a point in the two races prior to the summer break, in Germany and Hungary. Sutil returned to Formula 1 after a sabbatical during 2012 and has so far achieved a best finish of fifth place in Monaco. "We had a very strong start to the season, but for the last few races […]

Boullier: Raikkonen deserves 10 out of 10

Lotus team principal Eric Boullier says Kimi Raikkonen deserves 10 out of 10 for the first half of 2013. Raikkonen is currently in second place in the championship, having claimed a win and a further five podiums. "I would have to give Kimi 10 out of 10," said Boullier. "He’s done a terrific job right from the beginning of the season and his remarkable run of twenty-seven consecutive points finishes speaks for itself. No matter what happens he’s always there, as we saw in the […]

Ferrari pleased with Bianchi after 'fundamental' move

Luca Baldisserri, head of the Ferrari driver academy, says he is pleased with the progress Jules Bianchi has shown in his debut season with Marussia. Bianchi, who raced in GP2 in 2010 and 2011, moved into the Formula Renault 3.5 Series in 2012 but was unable to win the championship, which went to Robin Frijns. Bianchi has also tested for Ferrari in several young driver tests and participated in nine Friday practice sessions for Force India last season. Bianchi was set to continue in that […]

Montezemolo not ready for 2014 Massa talks

Luca di Montezemolo on Wednesday said he is not ready to talk about Felipe Massa's future at Ferrari. The Brazilian has been involved in a string of on-track incidents dating back every race since Monaco, amid speculation the Italian team might finally choose another teammate for Fernando Alonso next season. "Yes, these are critical moments," team boss Stefano Domenicali said after Massa's spin into retirement at the Nurburgring, "and of course we are not happy with the results. "But we have to support Felipe, because […]

Race win will motivate Hamilton says Brawn

A win at the Nurburgring will be the perfect tonic for Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes team boss Ross Brawn admits. This weekend's German grand prix is actually the team's and Nico Rosberg's home race, but Briton Brawn thinks countryman Hamilton "deserves" his breakthrough. Rosberg won Mercedes' first race of 2013 at Monaco, and he followed it up with the win at Silverstone last Sunday -- but only after local hero Hamilton suffered an exploded Pirelli. "He (Hamilton) deserves a win," said Brawn. Hamilton, 28, has had […]

Force India won't prevent di Resta exit

Force India on Wednesday said it will not hold Paul di Resta to his 2014 contract should the Scot want to join another team. There have been rumblings about the 27-year-old's discontent in the middle of the grid and at the Silverstone based team, amid his recent criticism of race strategies and reports even a garage scuffle broke out in Montreal. 'Healthy' Force India targeting strong home result

Force India driver Paul di Resta believes his team can achieve a strong result at their second home race at Silverstone this weekend. While the Indian Grand Prix is their home event, Force India's factory is located directly across the road from the circuit. "It’s always a highlight of the year," di Resta says of the British Grand Prix. "With the way our car is working these tyres at the moment, we are looking really healthy. I believe this car is the best we've ever […]
