Gutierrez to secure second Sauber seat

Esteban Gutierrez is set to secure one of the four last race seats on the 2014 grid. Bianca Garloff, the correspondent for the German publication Sport Bild, reported exclusively that Sauber will make the announcement about Adrian Sutil's teammate on Friday. Booth: 2014 car ahead of schedule

Marussia team principal John Booth has said that progress on his squad's 2014 car is ahead of schedule, with six weeks until the first pre-season test begins in Spain. Marussia team principal John Booth says his outfit is 'very close' to completing a deal which would see Max Chilton race with the squad for a second season. FIA opens up selection process for new team

The FIA has opened up a selection process for a new team to join the grid, potentially as early as the start of the 2015 Formula 1 season. Applicants have until Friday 3rd January 2014 to register a formal expression of interest. Bianchi and De la Rosa to test for Ferrari in Bahrain

Ferrari has confirmed that Pedro de la Rosa and Jules Bianchi will test for the team in Bahrain next week, rather than 2014 race drivers Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen. Ferrari is one of four teams set to participate in the test, which is being organised by tyre supplier Pirelli.
