Magnussen sets pace on day three at Jerez

Kevin Magnussen set the fastest time for McLaren on the third day of action at Jerez. The Dane's time of 1:23.276, set late in the day, was enough to pip Williams's Felipe Massa. Magnussen only ran during the afternoon but completed 51 laps, to add to the 40 managed by team-mate Jenson Button during the morning session. Reigning World Champion Sebastian Vettel has ended the second practice session fastest for this weekends European Grand Prix, just ahead of the Force India of Nico Hulkenberg and the Sauber of Kamui Kobayashi. McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton won a tense and tactical Canadian Grand Prix, making it seven winners from seven races in 2012. Hamilton took an unshakeable grip on this race after the first round of pitstops.
