Lack of KERS power costs Rosberg

Nico Rosberg believes a lack of KERS power cost him time to pole sitter Sebastian Vettel after qualifying in second place for the Brazilian Grand Prix. Rosberg, who was quickest in Friday practice, finished the session almost seven-tenths of a second behind his compatriot in wet conditions. "That was a very demanding qualifying session today with really tricky conditions and a long break before the final session," he said. "I'm really pleased to have achieved second place on the grid and a big thank you […]

Rosberg upbeat about challenging Red Bull

Friday practice pacesetter Nico Rosberg reckons that Mercedes can give Red Bull a run for their money at the Brazilian Grand Prix this weekend. Rosberg was quickest in both rain affected sessions at the Interlagos circuits in Sao Paolo. "Today I had a good start into the weekend, and I was very quick in the rain even though we don't really know about the fuel levels of the other teams," he said. "Therefore we need to read the time sheets with some caution. But generally […]

Vettel laments tyre situation

Reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel was left to lament the tyre situation that left him missing parts of practice for the Brazilian Grand Prix. Vettel completed only 27 laps across the two 90 minute sessions in order to preserve wet weather tyres. The German was also left to rue the wet conditions, as they prevented teams trialling Pirelli's 2014 development tyres. "We knew it would be wet today and might be tricky," he said. "The main loss from the rain was that we didn’t run […]

"I have to say that I’ve been quite unlucky in many races, not finishing when […]

Maldonado insists he's not crazy after outbursts in Austin

Pastor Maldonado has said that stress contributed to his emotional outbursts across the weekend at the United States Grand Prix. Maldonado said prior to the event that he was 'very happy' to be leaving Williams and inferred that a team member had sabotaged his car after he could manage only 18th place on the grid in qualifying. Last season, Nico Hulkenberg led the Brazilian Grand Prix and finished the race in fifth place for the team. "It was important that we secured such strong results in India and Abu Dhabi," he said.
