Tost expecting Sainz Jr. to stay at STR

Toro Rosso team boss Franz Tost says he is expecting Carlos Sainz Jr. to remain with the outfit into 2017, and hopes Daniil Kvyat will also be retained. Sainz Jr. has been backed by Red Bull throughout his single-seater career and graduated to Formula 1 with Toro Rosso in 2015. Toro Rosso expects 2016 podium challenge

Toro Rosso team boss Franz Tost says he expects the operation to claim a podium finish in 2016, as it bids to move up the Formula 1 grid. Tost defends Kvyat after tough Red Bull start

Toro Rosso team principal Franz Tost has defended Daniil Kvyat following the Russian's tough start to his Red Bull career. Kvyat has amassed only five points across the opening five races to sit 15th in the drivers' championship, 20 points adrift of seventh-placed team-mate Daniel Ricciardo. Tost: More to come from Vergne

Toro Rosso team principal Franz Tost insists that there is still more to come from Jean-Eric Vergne, who is contesting his third season with the squad. Vergne made his debut in 2012 but missed out on a Red Bull seat for 2014 and remained with Toro Rosso, alongside rookie team-mate Daniil Kvyat.
