Alonso thankful to Ferrari mechanics

Fernando Alonso praised his Ferrari mechanics for repairing his car during qualifying for the Malaysian Grand Prix. Raikkonen unhappy with sixth place

Kimi Raikkonen admitted that sixth place was a disappointment during qualifying for the Malaysian Grand Prix. Fernando Alonso has insisted that Ferrari can fight for the world championship in 2014. Alonso urged his Ferrari team to improve after the Australian Grand Prix, when the Spaniard finished in fourth place, 35 seconds down on race winner Nico Rosberg. Kimi Raikkonen has denied that he is having problems with the brake-by-wire system in his Ferrari F14T. Ferrari's 2014 contender, the F14T, has 'good scope for development', according to the team's deputy chief designer Simone Resta. Ferrari admits Melbourne showing 'not acceptable'

Ferrari technical director James Allison has admitted that the team's performance in the season-opening Australian Grand Prix was not acceptable.
