Toro Rosso will be among the teams at the Jerez test later this month. Lotus boss Eric Boullier insisted on Thursday that the Enstone based team will not be the only F1 outfit missing in action when the all-new cars and turbo V6s burst into action in southern Spain late in January. One of the missing teams, however, will not be Red Bull-owned Toro Rosso. The Faenza based team's new recruit, rookie Daniil Kvyat, told the Russian publication Championat he is currently training ahead of […]
Esteban Gutierrez is set to secure one of the four last race seats on the 2014 grid. Bianca Garloff, the correspondent for the German publication Sport Bild, reported exclusively that Sauber will make the announcement about Adrian Sutil's teammate on Friday. The news will heighten speculation Sauber's Russian rescue deal is on the rocks, as the teen Sergey Sirotkin was expected to make his grand prix debut next year for the struggling Swiss team. Mexican Gutierrez, 22, made his F1 debut this year for Sauber, […]
Pirelli's new range of tyres for 2014 is more conservative, according to the whispers from private testing in Bahrain. A three-day, Pirelli-organised test in the island Kingdom kicked off on Tuesday, with Red Bull, Ferrari, Mercedes and Toro Rosso in attendance with their 2013 cars. The testing of next year's tyres, which will have to handle the much-higher torque of the new turbo engines, is taking place behind closed doors, and laptimes and details are not being disclosed. But Italy's Autosprint said: "The general indication […]

Chilton joined Marussia as their reserve driver in 2012 and stepped up to a race seat in 2013. The Brit finished all 19 races in his first year in the sport. "We are very close with Max, very close. He wants to stay and we want him to stay so it's a matter of sorting the details […]
The head of the Quantum Motorsports consortium says a deal to buy into the Lotus team has been done - and he has urged the team to sign Nico Hulkenberg. "There is no question that the deal is definitely happening," Mansoor Ijaz, head of Quantum Motorsports, told Autosport. "I will even go out as far […]

"We have new parts coming to races as far out as Korea and beyond. They are not things I’ve had influence on but I can see them in the development programme." "I hope we can look […]
Amid suggestions Red Bull is preparing a 2014 contract for Daniel Ricciardo, Kimi Raikkonen's manager insists the Finn is still in the running. "Negotiations and discussions are still underway," manager Steve Robertson, who reportedly had a meeting with Lotus' Eric Boullier in Hungary on Friday, told the Finnish broadcaster MTV3. He added: "I can't tell you much about the details, but things are still open. I […]

We reported earlier that a conversation between Austrian Wolff and a then-unnamed former F1 team boss was "secretly recorded" and then threatened to be used against him. Bild newspaper had said Wolff spoke negatively about his own boss, Ross Brawn, colleague Niki Lauda, and also Daimler chairman Dieter Zetsche, whilst divulging details of his clashing co-ownership of the Williams team. A subsequent report by the magazine Sport […]

It has been known since May that the Munich prosecutors decided to indict the F1 chief executive for paying millions to jailed former F1 banker Gerhard Gribkowsky amid the sale of the sport some years ago. Bloomberg quoted a court spokesman as confirming that although the charges were filed in May, they were only served on Wednesday after being translated into English. He said more details will be released in […]
