Force India driver Sergio Perez says he is in favour of the FIA's plans to introduce double points for the season finale from next season. The sport's governing body announced earlier this week that drivers will receive double points in Abu Dhabi next year. World champion Sebastian Vettel called the rule 'absurd' while Red Bull team-mate Daniel Ricciardo labelled it 'bizarre'. But Perez says the change will make the end of the year exciting. Kovalainen targeting solid points finish

Heikki Kovalainen believes he can score decent points during the United States Grand Prix. Kovalainen, driving in place of the injured Kimi Raikkonen, qualified his Lotus in eighth place. It was the first time the Finn has qualified in the top 10 since the Japanese Grand Prix four years ago, when he was driving for McLaren. Mechanical failure hinders Hamilton

"Fourth place feels pretty good this evening considering the time was set on my first Q3 lap," he said. "Unfortunately on my second lap it looks like something gave way […]

Lotus apologises over Raikkonen radio message

Lotus team principal Eric Boullier has apologised for the heated radio messages that were exchanged between the team and Kimi Raikkonen during the Indian Grand Prix. Raikkonen was struggling on worn tyres and was told to "get out of the f***ing way" by one Lotus team member. Raikkonen, who sent back a similarly angry reply, was battling with team-mate Romain Grosjean for third place, with Felipe Massa close behind. Grosjean eventually finished the race in third, while Raikkonen was forced to pit for fresh tyres […]

Hamilton gutted after first retirement of 2013

Lewis Hamilton says he is gutted for his Mercedes team after the Brit retired for the first time in 2013. Hamilton made a strong start from third place on the grid but made contact with Sebastian Vettel, sustaining a puncture. Hamilton returned to the circuit with new tyres but the damage on his Mercedes was significant enough to force him out of the race. "I got a fantastic start this afternoon, better than both Red Bulls for probably the first time this year," he said. […]
