Claire Williams says father will never retire

Claire Williams says her legendary father will be "face down on the desk" on the day he retires from his role as team principal. Claire, 38, is now the Grove team's deputy and undoubtedly first in line to succeed her father Sir Frank, who founded his racing team almost 50 years ago. In the late 70s, Williams - now 73 and believed to be one of the world's oldest tetraplegics - founded his British-based F1 team alongside Patrick Head, who has since retired. But Claire […]

Formula 1 must be attractive - Williams

Formula 1 must remain attractive to potential new teams, according to Williams deputy team principal Claire Williams. Williams adamant glory days will return

Claire Williams insists that her team will never 'go the way of Tyrrell' and will remain a contender in Formula 1. Williams, deputy team principal to her father Frank, says her dream is to see the team return to the top of the championship. Williams has not won a championship since 1997 and has claimed just a single victory since 2004. But the team's form in Australia, where Valtteri Bottas finished in fifth place, suggests the squad is primed to rebound after a dismal 2013 […]

Williams targeting points at every race

Williams deputy team principal Claire Williams says that they must aim to finish in the points at every grand prix in 2014. Williams endured one of its worst seasons in Formula 1 last year as they scored just five points and finished ninth in the championship. Several rivals have tipped Williams to be one of the surprise packages in 2014, including former Williams driver Jenson Button. Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas have both demonstrated competitive pace across the three pre-season tests both across short and […]
