Magnussen sets pace on day three at Jerez

Kevin Magnussen set the fastest time for McLaren on the third day of action at Jerez. The Dane's time of 1:23.276, set late in the day, was enough to pip Williams's Felipe Massa. Magnussen only ran during the afternoon but completed 51 laps, to add to the 40 managed by team-mate Jenson Button during the morning session. Reigning World Champion Sebastian Vettel has ended the second practice session fastest for this weekends European Grand Prix, just ahead of the Force India of Nico Hulkenberg and the Sauber of Kamui Kobayashi. Mark Webber has made Formula 1 history with his second victory around the streets of Monte-Carlo, with a controlled drive throughout the Monaco Grand Prix. McLaren’s Jenson Button has ended the second practice session at the Circuit de Catalunya fastest, ahead of reigning World Champion Sebastian Vettel and the Mercedes of Nico Rosberg. Nico Rosberg has successfully won his maiden Grand Prix after a stunning drive throughout the Chinese Grand Prix as Mercedes overcame their tyre wear issues to stay at the sharp end of the field. If yesterday the sun decided to welcome everybody in Jerez; today, it was a very thick fog that was in charge of the day’s greetings.
