Adrian Sutil says scoring points has to be Sauber's target as they bid to end a fruitless run of races, starting at the Belgian Grand Prix this weekend.

Sutil and Sauber have endured a miserable season, with the squad having failed to register a solitary championship point across the opening 11 rounds of the season.

While Sutil admitted that the team could face a challenging weekend at Spa-Francorchamps, he was nonetheless optimistic over the Swiss outfit's progress over recent races.

"This [points] is the main target starting from today – getting into the points, we need a few," he said.

"There are only eight cars with Mercedes engines so we can be somewhere after those positions so hopefully it’s enough, you never know. There is some rain coming here, it’s a circuit I like and I have good memories from here.

"Monza will be difficult but Singapore [could be good]. So there will be plenty of opportunities, in the last race we were fighting with McLaren – it’s a long time ago that we could say that so it changes very quickly, the cars are moving forward or some are losing a bit. So we are definitely on the ascent."

Sutil also hinted that he will be remaining with the team into 2015.

"Yes, I know already since last year where I will be next year," he said.

"I can’t really comment more, team policy, as always!"
