Adrian Sutil finished 8th in Abu Dhabi and in an interview with Auto Motor und Sport, he said he was pleased with the result, even if he feels they missed out on getting 7th place. In the interview, the German driver also admits to be more surprised by the way his team has closed the gap to Mercedes than by the fact that he could put pressure on Schumacher at the beginning of the race. Moreover, he does not think that a different strategy was the only reason why he finished well ahead of his teammate on Sunday.

“Everything is working well for me at the moment. I feel good in the car. I think you could see the whole weekend that I was fast", he said. "The strategy was good. At first, we considered going with one stop, but it soon became clear that two stops were better. At the end it was the right decision”.

Now, his next goal is to overtake Petrov in the driver standings and reach the 9th position. To accomplish that task, Sutil needs to score 3 points more than the Renault driver in Brazil, but he feels confident that he can do it.

“That is a good circuit which could suit us. I have good memories; I was even once third in qualifying. I am looking forward to it”, Sutil said.

There still remains a question mark over Sutil's future. According to the rumour mill, Force India would like to have Paul di Resta and Nico Hulkenberg as their driver lineup for 2012, which would mean that Sutil will have to find a seat in another team. He has been linked to Williams and even to HRT, but nothing has been confirmed yet. When asked if he is afraid that the Brazilian GP could be his last F1 race, his answer is clear: "No, I am not afraid. I am not worried at all about the future."
