Will Stevens says "everything is moving in the right direction" regarding his potential future in Formula 1 beyond the end of the 2015 season.
Stevens made his debut in the sport with Caterham at the end of 2014 and switched to Manor Marussia for 2015, taking a best result of 13th at the British Grand Prix.
Manor Marussia is the only team with vacancies for the 2016 season (Haas is set to name its second driver in Mexico on Friday) but Stevens is hopeful that he will remain with the outfit.
"I think the year has been really good for me," he said. "My pace has always been really strong this year.
"I’ve only been out-qualified by team-mate four times this year so pace has never really been an issue. The last few races haven’t really gone our way.
"A few things have happened that have made it a little bit more difficult.
"But if I was to assess the year as a whole, I think it’s been really positive and for my options for next year, obviously we are pushing hard and everything is moving in the right direction."
