Sauber downcast after difficult first day

In a race where they are expected to struggled, Sauber drivers Kamui Kobayashi and Sergio Perez had a frustrating day at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.

Both drivers were outside of the top ten in second practice and made mistakes during the ninety minute session.

"The first session when we were evaluating parts was quite positive but in general our performance was rather weak today", said Kamui Kobayashi. "I had way too much oversteer. It is great to go racing in Singapore again but it is important that we improve the balance and set-up because you really need confidence in the car here."

Kobayashi spun underneath the grandstand during second practice, while Perez narrowly missed the wall at Turn 14.

"For me it was a difficult day because I was never really happy with the balance of the car. It felt inconsistent and a bit unpredictable", said Perez.

"We now have to analyse the data carefully and find a way to improve the car"
