The court hearing between Giedo van der Garde and Sauber will continue on Saturday morning, with the judge urging both parties to talk to each other.

Van der Garde was present in the Albert Park paddock on Friday morning and donned Marcus Ericsson’s overalls to undertake a seat fitting in the C34.

Neither Ericsson nor Felipe Nasr participated in the first practice session but they did join the action in the second session.

The court hearing resumed on Friday morning, with Van der Garde’s lawyers claiming that team principal Monisha Kaltenborn should face punishment for contempt of court.

The afternoon session wrapped up with the judge urging parties ‘to have very sensible discussions.’

The hearing will resume at the Victorian Supreme Court on Saturday morning.
