Championship leader Nico Rosberg says he needs to stop the current momentum that team-mate Lewis Hamilton has at this weekend's Spanish Grand Prix.

Rosberg leads the title fight but has had to play second fiddle to Hamilton after the Brit won the previous three races.

"Every weekend for sure [is important] but the momentum is on his side at the moment and I need to try and turn it around," said Rosberg, who started last year's race from pole position.

"I’m here to win in Barcelona and extend the lead in the championship."

Despite Hamilton's results across the last three races, Rosberg does not feel the need to change his approach.

"I’m comfortable to keep on doing what I’m doing," he said. "What I need is a normal weekend, I haven’t had one of those lately and I’m sure I’ll be able to turn things around."

Rosberg also downplayed suggestions that he could try and play mind games with the British racer.

"We’re team-mates, of course there’ll be discussions but there’s not much of that at the moment."
