Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo and Toro Rosso rookie Carlos Sainz Jr. will complete a demonstration run in Mexico next weekend, ahead of Formula 1’s return to the country later in 2015.
Ricciardo and Sainz Jr. will pilot Red Bull’s title-winning RB7 around a specifically constructed course in Mexico City’s historic square, the Zocalo, on Saturday 27 June.
“I’m really looking forward to this very special trip to Mexico,” said Ricciardo. “The demo runs in the city centre should be amazing and everyone is up for putting on a really big show.
“Mexico City’s huge and I know that Mexican people are really into F1, so I’m looking forward to seeing just how big a crowd we can bring out on the day!”
Sainz Jr added: “It’s a great way for people to get an idea what F1 is about before we return for the first Grand Prix to be held in Mexico for a very long time.”
Both Ricciardo and Sainz Jr. have conducted demonstration runs across recent weeks, with the Australian piloting a car around Vienna while his younger counterpart visited Peru.
