Kimi Raikkonen and Daniel Ricciardo have been handed two place grid penalties for the Canadian Grand Prix.
The stewards deemed that they did not line up correctly at the pit exit when Q2 restarted following its suspension due to Felipe Massa’s accident.
Other drivers were investigated for the transgression, but the stewards deemed that only Raikkonen and Ricciardo did not start from the ‘fast lane’.
Raikkonen qualified ninth, with Ricciardo in tenth. The application of the penalty means that they will actually lose just one place each; Raikkonen drops to tenth, with Ricciardo starting eleventh.
The beneficiary of the penalty is Sauber’s Nico Hulkenberg, who moves up two places to ninth.
