Raikkonen: Contract decision not easy

Kimi Raikkonen Monaco GPKimi Raikkonen admits making a decision about his future will not be an easy choice.

The Finn has raced for Lotus since the start of 2012 but Mark Webber's retirement from the sport has raised speculation that Raikkonen will race alongside Sebastian Vettel at Red Bull.

But Raikkonen denies that any decision is straightforward.

"Whatever the decision, it will not be easy, but it is never easy," he said.

"It is not the first time that there are different options on the table, and then you take the one that you think is right at that moment. So it is hard to say if it is the right or wrong decision and you have to live with it. Only you can make the decision yourself."

Raikkonen added that the freedom he is given by Lotus is key and that "It has been perfect. Without them I wouldn't be back in F1."

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner insists that no decision has been made and that the reigning world champions are simply seeking a fast driver.

"We want a fast driver. We want to fill the best two cars that we can next year," he said.
