Kimi Raikkonen has returned to work in Ferrari's simulator having re-joined the team for the 2014 season.

Raikkonen raced for Ferrari between 2007 and 2009, winning the world championship in 2007.

"It’s good to be back at work," he said.

"I began by getting used to all the new systems and procedures that we will use this year".

Raikkonen visited Ferrari's headquarters in Maranello prior to the Christmas period but the Finn only started with simulator work this week.

Raikkonen's three day visit to Maranello began on Monday, and allowed him to catch up with his engineers, including his new race engineer Antonio Spagnolo.

"From this point of view, the simulator is really very useful."

"It’s true there’s lots to do, but the workload is not much different to what it was in the past. For me, these days in Maranello are also an opportunity to be with the team and spend a bit more time with my many friends here."
