Haas team boss Guenther Steiner labelled the British Grand Prix as the toughest day of the year for the team as a power outage and reliability woes impacted on its race.
Haas held hopes of challenging for the points but Romain Grosjean pulled to the side of the circuit while Esteban Gutierrez struggled to 16th place.
"For sure, it’s been our toughest day since we started this adventure," said Steiner.
"There were a few issues today. When we double stopped, we had a problem with the tyre change on Esteban’s car.
"Then we had the power go down on all our systems. We didn’t have any GPS maps, so we didn’t know when to call them in and when not.
"Then Romain had a transmission failure ending his race."
Gutierrez was left to rue a difficult day in the VF-16.
"The pace we had just wasn’t enough to get further up the grid, but we’ll keep pushing as we look ahead to the next event," he commented.
