Pirelli confirm no tyre construction changes

Pirelli has confirmed that there will be no changes to the construction of the PZero tyre, contrary to initial plans.

Pirelli had intended to bring a modified tyre to the British Grand Prix but these plans have now changed.

"This decision is due to the fact that the new tyres, which were brought to the Friday free practice sessions in Canada, could not be tested sufficiently due to rain – and that the teams failed to agree unanimously about introducing the changes," read a Pirelli statement.

"Instead a change in the tyre production process should now ensure that the delamination issue has been addressed."

The company also confirmed the compounds that will be used at the next three races.

Medium and Hard tyres will be used in Britain and Hungary, while the German Grand Prix will be run on Soft and Medium compound tyres.
