Pirelli announces latest tyre choices

Pirelli-Formula-One-TyresPirelli has revealed its choice of tyre compounds for the start of the second half of the 2013 Formula 1 season.

Medium and hard tyres will be used for the Belgian Grand Prix, as well as for Pirelli's home race at Monza two weeks later.

For the sport's night race in Singapore in late September, Supersoft and medium tyres will be used.

"The second half of the season starts off with two of the fastest and most demanding races for tyres of the year, in Belgium and Italy," said Pirelli's motorsport director Paul Hembery.

"Singapore is a completely different challenge: the final street race of the season, which is ideal territory for the supersoft tyres. As always, our selections have concentrated on providing the best opportunities for strategy as well as the most effective race tyres."

The tyres used will have the same specification as those set to be raced in this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix: 2012 construction matched to the 2013 compounds.
