Sergio Perez says he is 'very close' to completing a contract extension which would see him remain with Force India for next season.

Perez joined the squad for 2014 after spending two years with Sauber and a solitary season with McLaren and finished on the podium in only his third race with Force India, in Bahrain.

Team-mate Nico Hulkenberg has already been confirmed at the Silverstone-based outfit for 2015 and Perez is confident that Force India will race with an unchanged line-up next year.

"Things are getting very close to sorting out the deal with the team, I definitely want to stay for longer and establish myself with the team," he said.

"In my four years in Formula 1, I’ve probably been moving around too many times.

"I want to do a second year with the team, that is my target and hopefully everything goes right and we can announce something soon."

Perez is currently in 11th place in the championship, just two points behind Kevin Magnussen, who replaced him at McLaren.
