Sergio Perez believes that the next two races will present Force India with their best chance of claiming another podium finish.

Perez claimed a top three result at the Bahrain Grand Prix earlier in the season and reckons the characteristics of the next two circuits - Spa-Francorchamps and Monza - should play into the hands of Force India.

Force India is currently in fifth place in the Constructors' championship, although they hold a slender one point advantage over McLaren.

"Our goal is to maximise every single opportunity," he said. "In the first half we missed some big opportunities by contact, luck, drivability issues, in the second half of the season I want to maximise and score as many points to keep our Constructors' position or improve it. The next races should be good for us in terms of the engine, [we] should have a good advantage, I hope we make the most of it.

"If we are going to do any podiums it will need to be in the next two races, we need to give everything in these two. Let’s see if we can reach it again. I had the opportunity to win the race in Canada, I had the chance to fight for the podium in Austria. We should put that pressure into the team as we can do it – we’ve done it, let’s do it again."

The Mexican driver is not anticipating many changes in the pecking order as Formula 1 reconvenes in Belgium after a four-week break, but expects a few minor positions to alter.

"I think Williams can probably get Ferrari," he said. "I hope we stay in front of McLaren – why not? We can move forwards."

Perez is also hopeful that his future with the team will be sorted within a few weeks.

"Nothing [is] confirmed yet" he said. "[But] we should be sorted for next year in the next couple of weeks."
