Sergio Perez believes that Force India's upgrade package will enable the squad to target Red Bull for fouth position in the Constructors' championship.
Force India has been using a comparatively underdeveloped car across the first half of 2015 but it's 'B-spec' car will make its debut at this weekend's British Grand Prix.
Perez is hopeful that the squad will be able to use the upgrades as a platform on which to challenge Red Bull, which currently holds a 24 point advantage.
"I think that should be our target, to try to chase Red Bull," Perez said. "If the upgrade goes well, and everything goes well, then we should aim for Red Bull, definitely."
Perez says that Force India is confident that its upgrade package will deliver the anticipated step up in performance.
"We are all very optimistic; looking at the numbers, it's quite promising," he explained. "But at the same time we're realistic; an upgrade needs some process and work to understand to take the maximum out of it.
"Hopefully tomorrow we can have plenty of mileage. We need plenty of mileage to move on and see where we are. We are optimistic, yes, but we are realistic and know that tomorrow we have a lot of work to do."
