Sergio Perez says it is flattering to have been linked with Ferrari following a strong run of form, but insists his focus remains on delivering results with Force India.
Perez has moved up to eighth place in the standings after finishing on the podium in Monaco and Baku, having also qualified on the front row of the grid at the European Grand Prix.
This weekend's Austrian Grand Prix begins a sequence of four races in five weekends and Perez says his focus remains on the present rather than the future.
"I think always when you do well in a race in F1 you are straight away linked with Ferrari, it’s the biggest team in F1, if you’re linked with Ferrari it means you’re doing well and I think it’s the same for many other drivers," he said.
"In F1 you cannot rule out anything, I’ve learnt from that in the past, you never know what will happen in the future, so we’ll see how things develop for the future, we are getting closer to take the decision about my future, then we’ll see if there’s an opportunity or not."
Perez, who stressed his first option remains with Force India, is hopeful of continuing his run of form.
"My main focus is here; I have my management worrying about these thing," he said.
"I’ve been in this position before in 2012 and the last thing I want is to distract myself, I want to come here and do my job and it’s the same for my team."
