Perez distances himself from rumours

Sergio Perez has denied that he has received any offers of a 2013 drive from top teams.

The Sauber driver, who has taken three podiums this season, was speaking in the press conference ahead of Sunday's Singapore Grand Prix.

"In the position I am in, when I have a good result because I am fighting for points and sometimes able to get some good podiums, it is time when rumours start," said the Mexican.

"Then, when you have a bad race you have no more rumours. In that respect I am not worried. I know I have a very strong car for the next seven races, so I hope we can deliver some good results"

When asked about the links to McLaren, Perez responded. "There are so many rumours. Before it was Ferrari, now it is McLaren. So always when I have a good race they put me in a different team. The most important thing is to keep doing a good job and maximise the potential we have for the next few races"

Asked directly about whether he had received an offer, he replied "No".
