Jolyon Palmer will return to the cockpit of the Lotus E23 Hybrid during free practice for this weekend's Spanish Grand Prix, before receiving a day in the car at next week's test.

Palmer, the reigning GP2 champion, has already received track time this season, having participated in winter testing and free practice sessions in both China and Bahrain.

Palmer will participate in Friday's opening practice session at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, prior to his day's worth of running at the track next Wednesday.

"I am really pleased to be back in the car for Barcelona," said Palmer.

"It is nice to be back at the track, having already driven the car there in the official pre-season test back in February. After a three-week gap since Bahrain, I'm already looking forward to starting the weekend."
