Pirelli's new Super Soft tyre will make its weekend debut at the Monaco Grand Prix, with the company saying usage of the compound will be crucial.

Pirelli's Super Soft is the only new compound this year, with the changes offering greater resistance to graining and blistering compared to its 2014 counterpart, with a more even temperature distribution set to aid grip further.

While the updated Super Soft tyre has been used by some teams during testing, it will be raced on for the first time in 2015 this weekend.

"We’re bringing our brand new Super Soft tyre for the first time this year, together with the Soft, as has been the case since we started our current Formula One era in 2011," said Hembery.

"Monaco has often been described as a circuit where overtaking is impossible, but we have seen in the past there how tyre strategy and degradation has often led to positions changing, including on-track overtaking.

"In particular, the way that drivers use the new Super Soft tyre, with is notable performance advantage, will be crucial."

Pirelli will also bring the two softest compounds in its range to upcoming races in Canada and Austria.
