McLaren has confirmed that an upgraded nose box has been cleared for use at next weekend's Austrian Grand Prix after passing the required crash tests.

McLaren has endured a troublesome campaign with returning power unit manufacturer Honda so far in 2015, having scored just four points courtesy of Jenson Button in Monaco.

The squad is optimistic of making significant progress across the remainder of the season, with improvements to the engine set to be allied to chassis gains.

"News from MTC [McLaren Technology Centre]: We can confirm that the new MP4-30 nose box has passed the FIA crash test and will be available to use from the Austrian Grand Prix," the team confirmed.
