McLaren racing director Eric Boullier says that the outfit is motivated by the news that Jenson Button will remain with the team into the 2016 campaign.
Button's future had been in doubt but last week it was confirmed that he will stay with McLaren, extending his stay with the Honda-powered team into a seventh season.
"We confirmed that Jenson will be continuing to race with us next year," Boullier said ahead of the Russian Grand Prix.
"The announcements is incredibly motivating for the whole team, and we go to Sochi with renewed enthusiasm and excitement."
Boullier's team sits in ninth place in the championship with 17 points and the Frenchman is wary that the remaining races are likely to be a learning process for 2016.
"While we know the limitations of our package, we are continuing to work tirelessly on our reliability and performance to achieve the best result we can," he explained.
"There’s still a long way to go until the end of the season, and every weekend counts as an opportunity to learn, develop and apply our knowledge and experience to next year’s car. Sochi will be no different."
