Honda's new engine will be tested on track for the first time on Friday ahead of its return to Formula 1 in 2015.
McLaren has confirmed that a modified version of its current car, the MP4-29, will be fitted with Honda's new Power Unit and tested at Silverstone on Friday.
"Getting set for Silverstone tomorrow for a filming day," McLaren posted on its official Twitter account.
"We'll be parading the interim Honda-engined MP4-29H/1X1 & 2 classic McLaren-Hondas."
Mileage of filming days is limited but the test will permit the team to uncover any major issues prior to the post-race Abu Dhabi test.
McLaren has not confirmed who will be driving the development car.
