Jenson Button and Kevin Magnussen must wait longer to find out about their Formula 1 futures after no decision was taken on the team's 2015 driver line-up during a McLaren board meeting in Woking on Thursday.
While Button and Magnussen conducted a sponsor event in Edinburgh, senior McLaren figures met at the team's headquarters amid widespread speculation that they would decide who should partner Fernando Alonso in 2015 - though an announcement on the Spaniard's return has not yet been made.
But the board meeting concluded without a decision having been taken.
"Today's board meeting has now concluded, and no decision has been taken with regard to our 2015 driver line-up," a team spokesman said.
McLaren remains the only team in Formula 1 yet to decide on its 2015 line-up, following last week's confirmation that Carlos Sainz will join Max Verstappen at Toro Rosso.
McLaren finished in fifth place in this year's Constructors' Championship during their final year with Mercedes.
Button amassed 126 points while Magnussen contributed 55 points to their overall tally.
McLaren racing director Eric Boullier confirmed in Abu Dhabi that GP2 runner-up and McLaren young driver Stoffel Vandoorne was not in contention for a promotion to Formula 1.
