McLaren and Ferrari to launch in late January

McLaren is to launch its Honda-powered MP4-30 on January 29.

Rivals Ferrari, meanwhile, will launch its 2015 contender on social media on January 30.

"The new era begins," McLaren confirmed on its official Twitter account. "Introducing the #McLarenHonda #MP430. Launching online 29 January 2015. See it here first."

The car will be piloted by world champions Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button.

Ferrari's car, dubbed 'Project 666', will be unveiled online a day later, with team principal Maurizio Arrivabene having opted to avoid a presentation at the factory in Maranello due to the time taken to set-up the launch.

Meanwhile, it has emerged that, unlike in 2014 when four tests were scheduled, this year there will only be two post-grand prix, in-season tests.

They will take place after the Spanish and Austrian Grands Prix respectively, at the Circuit de Catalunya in May and the Red Bull-Ring in June.
