British driver Max Chilton is set to race for Marussia in Formula One next season.

Chilton finished 4th in GP2 this season and is expected to be promoted to the top tier of racing with Marussia.

Nikolay Fomenko, president of Marussia Motors, told Russian journalists that Timo Glock's 2013 team mate will be 'the reserve driver - Chilton'.

Chilton joined Marussia as their reserve driver ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix, having taken part in the young driver test at Silverstone.

Chilton also took part in first practice for the team at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Chilton's father, Grahame, is vice president of Aon Group, with the logos of the company featuring prominently on Chilton's GP2 machine in 2012.
